Installation

  1. Download the PS1 Filter plugin
  2. Unzip the downloaded zip file
  3. Drag the PS1 Filter.zip file onto the Cavalry interface
  4. Find PS1 Filter in the Add Layers window

Time

Controls animation progression in the shader (connected to composition time by default)

Pixel Size

Default: 1 Recommended values: 1.0 — 3.0

Controls the size of the fake low-resolution pixel grid. Lower values give a cleaner image where as higher values give a much more chunky pixelated look. Anything higher than 3 is likely to blow out the image.

Color Steps

Default: 32.0 Recommended values: 16 — 32

Controls colour quantisation/posterisation this can be used to simulate a limited colour depth.

Horizontal Wobble

Default: 0.6 Recommended values: 0.5 — 3.0

Controls large horizontal image distortion bands this helps create the Play Station 1 affine warp effect.

Shimmer Amount

Default: 0.4
Recommended values: 0.5 — 2.0

Controls how much the image swims or crawls giving it the Affine warping effect seen in PS1 games.

Shimmer Speed

Default: 8.0 Recommended values: 6 — 12

Controls how quickly the shimmer/wobble updates.

Scanline Strength

Default: 0.05 Recommended values: 0.03 — 0.12

Controls how visible/dark the CRT scanlines are.

Scanline Scale

Default: 0 Recommended values: 1 — 4

Controls scanline spacing/thickness.
